Dr. Feteh Vitalis Fambombi

Dr. Feteh Vitalis Fambombi, a physician from Cameroon, works with Cameroon’s Ministry of Public Health as the interim regional chief of brigade for the control of health activities, overseeing over 400 primary healthcare (PHC) facilities in the North West Region. Dr. Fambombi earned a degree in medicine from the University of Buea, Cameroon. He practiced as a primary health care physician before obtaining a masters of science in International Health and Tropical Medicine from the University of Oxford, United Kingdom.
Dr. Fambombi has over a decade of experience delivering clinical care in underserved communities and in the implementation of primary healthcare projects in humanitarian settings. He co-led the frontline field epidemiologic investigations of the first-ever Mpox epidemic in Cameroon. He also has first-hand experience in the conceptualization, operationalization, and monitoring and evaluation of health programs implemented by diverse health cadres including community health workers to optimize the fight against HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, Malaria, Non-Communicable Diseases and Neglected Tropical Diseases. Dr. Fambombi aims to utilize the fellowship to build on his leadership skills, especially on health policy design and implementation for an integrated approach to primary healthcare delivery as leverage for resilient healthcare systems.
