Azima Bokoshova

Azima Bokoshova is a dedicated legal professional from the Kyrgyz Republic with over a decade of experience in public-private partnerships (PPPs), healthcare and pharmaceutical law. She holds a Diploma of Higher Education in Law with Distinction from Kyrgyz National University and has expanded her expertise through professional training in PPPs, global public health and regulatory impact analysis. Azima is also a licensed attorney and a member of the Kyrgyz Bar Association.
As a senior associate at Kalikova & Associates, one of Kyrgyzstan’s leading law firms, Azima has extensive experience advising public authorities, international organizations and private companies on diverse legal and regulatory matters. Among her career highlights is advising the Ministry of Health on structuring and procurement of the country’s first healthcare PPP projects. She has also contributed to several legislative initiatives and served on a working group under the National Investment Agency conducting regulatory impact analysis on proposed PPP-related reforms.
During her Humphrey Fellowship at VCU, Azima seeks to deepen her expertise in public health policy, focusing on identifying improvement opportunities to address her country’s needs. She is committed to translating evidence-based concepts gained through the program into regulatory frameworks that create tangible impact.
